The Department of Mathematics, in partnership with other University of Toronto departments and industry partners, is proud to offer the annual Girls in STEM conference.

Math Outreach and Engagement

The International Math Kangaroo Competition is a 60 minute, multiple choice contest open to anyone in Grades 2–12. It takes place each year in the spring.


Jr. DEEP is the University’s advanced academic program for students in grades 5 to 8 who have a desire to explore science, math and technology in challenging and creative ways. Jr. DEEP exposes students to concepts and topics beyond the regular school curriculum in a fun hands-on environment. BEGINS: JULY 29

Girls’ Jr. DEEP

Girls Jr. DEEP was created to encourage and inspire girls in grades 3 through 8 to explore their interests in science, engineering and technology in a comfortable, confidence-inspiring, all-female environment. Offered at the University’s St. George campus in the summer, the weeklong session promises fun hands-on, discovery-based science and engineering activities. BEGINS: JULY 2013
